The concept of “halal,” encompassing all products and services consumed and used by Muslim
individuals, was initially associated only with the food sector but has now expanded into many
fields such as tourism, finance, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and the digital world, becoming a broad
and dynamic industry. Individuals who embrace the halal lifestyle increasingly demand products and
services that align with their beliefs; this, in turn, positions the halal market as a strategically
significant sector for both producers and service providers on a global scale.
Today, halal is regarded not only as a religious requirement but also as a universal value that
aligns with the principles of ethical production, sustainability, transparency, and reliability.
People now question not only the origin of a product but also every stage of its production and
distribution, preferring organizations that adopt production models sensitive to the environment,
human health, and social values.
With the advancement of communication technologies and the acceleration of global interaction, the
concept of halal has become associated with trust and quality worldwide, attracting attention not
only among Muslim societies but across the entire globe.
Within this framework, the Republic of Türkiye Halal Accreditation
Agency (HAK) will organize the 1st International Halal Accreditation Congress to
contribute to the development of halal accreditation at both national and international levels,
raise sectoral awareness, and establish a knowledge-sharing network grounded in scientific
principles.
The congress aims to establish a scientific and sectoral platform in the field of halal conformity
assessment by bringing together representatives from the public and private sectors as well as
academic circles, to address all halal-related issues under the main theme of halal accreditation
from theoretical, technical, and practical perspectives through a multidisciplinary approach. In
this regard, the congress will not only serve as an event for sharing current practices but also as
a meeting point for new ideas, academic research, and opportunities for collaboration. Under the
theme “The Milestone of Trust in Global Halal Quality
Infrastructure: Halal Accreditation,” the congress will be held:
• on 6-7 April 2026 with scientific and sectoral sessions,
and
• on 8 April 2026 with a social program.
The Congress will address topics such as strengthening the halal quality infrastructure, developing
international cooperation mechanisms, exploring the role of halal accreditation in global trade, its
impact on consumer confidence, and its strategic vision for the future.
Participants may attend the congress, which fulfills the associate professorship criteria, either as
listeners or by submitting oral and poster presentations. Participants whose abstracts are accepted
after a double-blind peer review process and who wish to present an oral presentation can upload
their full papers to the system within the specified dates. It is aimed that the selected English
full-text papers (those reviewed for plagiarism and approved through a double-blind peer review
process) will be published as an internationally indexed publication upon the authors’ request after
the congress. Other abstracts and full texts will be published in the electronic congress
proceedings book. In addition, the congress will be open to national and international audiences,
reaching a wide audience through online broadcast.
In this regard, the 1st International Halal Accreditation
Congress aims to serve as a pioneering event that promotes the production of scientific
knowledge in the field of halal accreditation, strengthens cross-sectoral interaction, and
contributes to building a globally trusted halal quality infrastructure.
